Halloween Alter

On October 31st, my mom and I will be decorating our altar for day of the dead!!! We decorate our altar with all different kinds of fruits, like guavas, banana, pineapple, apple, oranges, jicama, persimmon, and tangerines. We also put aguinaldos. If you don't know what that is, then I will explain it to you. An aguinaldo is a kind of decorations like tables with every kind of foods on it, except it is not real. We also put sugar skulls with lots of decorations on it.

Another thing we put is, this kind of pot with candy glued on it because it is not real. The last thing we put is, a bowl with rice, chicken, and mole. We buy this kind of bread, that is called bread of the dead, which they call in Spanish Pan De Muerto. We put another table under the alter because we put food there for the dead. I hope our plan turns out great and I hope I will enjoy helping my mom.

The Ronald Reagan Library

Today, I went to a field trip to the Ronald Reagan Library. I was really excited, because I was the president. Everyone got a badge. They had to wear it all day. The badge said who you were. I was the president.

First, we went walking around, and the first cool thing I saw was a BIG airplane. It used to be Ronald Reagan's Airplane. We got to go inside, and it was pretty big. There was a little kitchen inside, and on a table was fake chocolate cake. In Mr.Reagan's room, there was a big jar of jelly beans. There were a few more rooms, then some seats. I think that the most important part of the plane was the place where the nuclear football was located. (a replica/fake) There was this section with computers. ('old ones') You could make any secret call from there without being hacked! In that same section, there was a black briefcase. The black briefcase was called the nuclear football, because the president could send a nuclear bomb if he was in danger.

After that, we went to a helicopter. To the left, was the control room. That is where the pilots sit at. Then, there were a bunch of seats.

After that, we went to the museum part. I saw a painting of Mr.Reagan, made out of Jelly Belly Jelly Beans! Mr. Reagan LOVED jellybeans, which is why jellybeans were all over the place. There was also a picture of him, that was made entirely of butterfly's wings. (no insect was harmed)

As we went along, I discovered new things. I learned that Mr. Reagan's family was not rich. His father was a drunk, so he did not earn money. The mother put two pennies under a loose tile, so that no one could ever say that they were penniless. Ronald Reagan had to work. His first job was washing dishes. This was to pay for his schooling. Then, he became a lifeguard, and saved 70 lives! After that, he got roles in movies, and then did a bunch of other stuff.

It turns out that Ronald Reagan was SHOT by a man named John Wickley Jr. The bullet bounced off of a car, and then hit the president. Because it did not hit him directly, the president survived.

Then, we went back in time. We were in the same situation as in 1983, when Cuba wanted to make Grenada a communist island. This was a problem, because 800 American students were in Grenada, attending St.George's Medical school. I, the president, got advise from my advisers. I had to make decisions, and see if I made the same decisions as Ronald Reagan. I was a little bit nervous, but everything went well.

We were a little bit short on time, so we did not get to spend a lot of time at the Ronald Reagan Library. I hope I can come again with my family.

Thank You, Modernfloristry

Dial Jenson and Sean McGowan from Modernfloristry,  on behalf of the Garden Department and the HORTICULTURE CLUB we thank you so much for making a donation to our school. We are students from the school and we use this blog to write about our interests. As you can see we have a Horticulture club that meets on Mondays after school. The Students in the garden clubs are from 4-10 years old and are very interested in growing plants. In the garden department we work before school to take care of the garden areas we started last year. Most of our plants are donated by our teacher and her friends.
We are happy that your business is located so close to our school and one of your employees is connected to the school. She brings us the plants that you have donated to us and we are very happy to get them. The plants that you have donated to us are in our garden area. The plants have changed the way the area looks, they form a nice border. We love that they are so big and cover up empty spaces. We have used the plants to make an empty wall a little bit more beautiful. We put the plants in some nice, big pots that were also donated.

The plants make our garden a big deal! People are giving us new compliments about how much nicer the garden area looks.

Whenever we walk by the plants,  it feels like we are in a proper garden. I am sure that other students at our school feel the same way. You should know that we really appreciate your donation, so THANK YOU!

Squishy Balls For Sale.

On October, 18, 2017 My mom bought me 3 squishies. If you don't know what they are it is a medium sized ball and it is full of slime. It also has a net around it. Which is why it is called a squishy because when you squish it some little  round small balls stick out. It is so satisfying. There are two kinds of squishies.  Some that you squish but it doesn't have slime in it. It has foam. Then the other one is the one with slime. Then there is another it is like the one with the slime in it but the slime inside of it is a diffrent color then the outside.  I got it cheap because it was 1 dollar. Since it was cheap my mom said why don't you sell it. I said okay. I decided to sell it for 1 dollar and 50 cents. I decided that if I sold it for 2 dollars no one would buy. So I thought why not 1 dollar fifty. I would still get a 50 cents profit. I started to sell today. The people who bought  was Daniela. But many Classtopians thought they were cool but they didn't have money so they asked me to save it for them. I think tommorow a lot of people will buy.

The Air Show Blast

On Saturday, October 15, 2017 I went to the air show. We were in Apple Valley, so we decided, why not go have some fun? The air show is where people fly planes in the sky. The planes usually go in a straight line, then they cross in different ways. They cross each other. I thought they were going to crash, but they are highly trained to use the planes, and do tricks with them. It was so cool seeing them right in front of my eyes. There was a plane that stayed on the ground, so people could see it up close.  I was sitting down watching the planes for about an hour. At the end we left. I loved going there and watching the planes.  Hope I can go again.

My First Day At Horticulture Club

Today was my first day at garden club. After school, I stayed in my classroom, and we waited for other people to come. About 15 Classtopians came to the club. My little sister came, too. There were a few kids from another class that joined us. Once everyone was here, we started. First, we introduced ourselves to everyone, especially the new people we did not know. We said our names, and the reason we were here. After that, we got our journals. We were going to take notes in these.

We visited all of our gardens. We talked about what we needed to do. On Saturday, some volunteers cleaned up an area, or they mostly cleared up an area. There were a little bit of weeds left, but we would take care of those later. We started thinking about what we would put in that area. Maybe we would mount Orchids on the trees.

Then, we watered a garden. We wet the leaves (fronds) of a GIGANTIC fern. It was not extremely big, but it was the most biggest fern I have ever seen! This is a gift from our friend "The".

While  we were in a garden, my mom came to pick me up. I left at about 3:45, so there was still time left, but that was fine. I wonder what will happen next week at the club.

No School Saturday

On Saturday, a day of NO SCHOOL, I spend that perfect day playing with my cute dog, Coco. Coco can be a funny name but don't make fun of it because my big brother makes fun of her. It makes me feel bad because Coco has feelings too.

This is Coco, my dog.

I have been trying to train her to do tricks. We were outside  playing together and I gave her a treat and told her to sit but she was running and wagging her tail. I told her to sit but she did a cool trick and I gave her the treat. She is an amazing dog and can be lazy sometimes. Coco is the only dog I can play with and she has a BEAUTIFULLY colored fur and CUTE eyes. Coco and I play games but she is afraid of loud noises. My dog helps me get the rope to make a swing of our own. I will never want to let her go even when I get old. Coco is the greatest  dog I could have.

Google Accounts Set Up

Today, October17, the Help Department helped a third grade class. What we did was that we needed to help kids set up their gmail account for them to use the G-suite and e-mail. Other kids from the class already did their google accounts with help from our help department last week.

Each Classtopian in the department helped 2 kids. We are happy to help them because the next time they might help another class when we are gone off to Middle School.

Boring Lunch

Lunch is getting a bit boring. Every single week, we get the same menu! On October 10, 2017, we got nachos with beans and cheese. The nachos chips are so dangerous. If you break them, the edges are so sharp that you can cut the inside of your mouth. You could make your self bleed. I know this information because once I had a chipped lip and I ate the nacho and it burned. The bean and cheese are chunky. It has a lot of tomato sauce. The nachos are salty, if you have a chipped lip, it is going to burn! Nachos, beans, cheese, and chocolate milk do not go together. It just taste so weird!

Number One Book

I have read a LOT of books in my life. I have read HUNDREDS of books, so I have a long list of favorite books. In third grade, my favorite author was Mildred D. Taylor. But, now, in fifth grade, Pam Munoz Ryan is my favorite author. In class, we have read Esperanza Rising, Becoming Naomi Leon, and Echo.

Echo was the most recent book we have read by Pam Munoz Ryan. And, of of all the books I have read, Echo is my favorite. Making Echo my number one favorite book is a big deal, because I have a LOT of favorite books.

Echo is very different from the rest of the books that she has written. When I was reading Echo, I cried, because some parts of the story were very strong. I could relate to how the characters were feeling. Echo hooks you. If you start reading it, it is almost impossible to stop reading it. Echo has something special about it.

I really recommend you read Echo, because I give it FIVE stars.  I am sure that as you start reading, you will want to keep on going.

I was actually surprised how good Echo was, but now I know how good Pam Munoz Ryan writes. I will watch out for any new books that she writes.

Halloween Pumpkin Making

One day I was walking from school to go home and as usual I see a Farmer’s Market. There at the Farmer’s Market there’s this man. Every time the farmer’s market is there he gives me free strawberries because he is selling them.

But he was not at his stand. Which seemed suspicious! I spotted him buying groceries from the market. I tried to get his attention but it was hopeless. It was like to him I was not there.
Also I saw this lady passing by and at first she passed me and then she came and said, "We are decorating pumpkins. Would you like to decorate one/"   I said sure because I felt very tired from school. so I thought if I learning in school I should at least have some activity to do in the meanwhile. I asked my mom and she said yes so I just went WHOO!  I loved all the options  that they had. And there was a few pumpkins but I chose the biggest pumpkin they had it was orange.

Why I Chose The Decorations I Chose?
File:BlackDot.svg - Wikimedia Commons My decision was googly eyes to make maybe similar to pumpkins I have seen and some that I haven’t seen before.

File:BlackDot.svg - Wikimedia Commons I chose sharpies because they added a lot of color, they are permanent, and they were the only marker available.

San Pedro Fish Market

On October 8th, I went to San Pedro Fish Market and Restaurants!! The food was so good there because I love fish. At first, we went to my dad's cousin's house because his aunt died. After a while, we ate mole with chicken and when we were done, we did a prayer. When the prayer finished, we left and my dad asked us "Where do you guy's want to go?'' and my brother said "The Fish Market", and my dad said "Okay". When my brother said The Fish Market I told my mom "What's that?' and she said "Its a market with restaurants that sell fish and more sea food." My brother knew that because he said that before I was born, they used to go there a lot.

It took us about an hour to get there because there was A LOT of traffic. My mom said to go to sleep for a while because its going to take long to get there. I went to sleep for about..20 minutes and then I was watching a movie with my cousin on his phone. After a few minutes, we got there and it was smelling A LOT like fish!!! There were different kinds of restaurants in the Fish Market. I ordered a fried fish and it was so Delicious.
My fried fish
My mom, dad, and sister didn't finish their food, so we had to take it home because we didn't want to waste food. When we put the food in the box, we went down to the little pier to see the fish. We saw a big boat, a little boat, and a police boat. When we saw the big boat, there was a yellow hand that was waving at us. We saw the police boat picking up trash like paper plates, paper cups and chip bags. We saw the big boat with rooms on it, guests, and servants. The little boat carried people so they can go and see fishes and seals.

The thing that I didn't like about the fish market is that, you have to make a big line to go to the restroom. Where we ate, there was a restroom in the corner and I was going to go there, but they have closed the area by then. When we were about to leave, my brother wanted an ice cream, so my dad gave him money so he can go and by one. When he came back, he had 3 kinds of ice cream flavors. The ice cream flavors were pina colada, coconut, and gum. I had a blast at The Fish Market, I hope I get to go there again.

So Classtopians, have you been to San Pedro Fish Market??? If you haven't, then I recommend you to got there.

A Perfect Saturday

Saturday was a fun day. My music class was canceled, so I did not get up that early. After my family was ready, we went to an event at a church.

We went to the church because there was this event to prepare our family in case of a natural disaster. There were booths, and they talked about what we can do in case something happens, and they gave us papers with information on them.

My favorite booth was called "Learn CPR and Save a Life". My family all learned how to do CPR. A police officer taught us CPR. We had fake people on the ground, and we practiced on them. First, you put a hand on top of the other, and then put your fingers through the other hand's fingers. Then, you press on their chest with the bottom part of your palm. You need to do this until they move, or until help arrives. For babies, you face them towards you, and put your hands around them. With your two thumbs, you press on their chest.  This is very useful to know.

A booth was run by teenagers. They had Mason jars, and inside the jars, there were ingredients to make soup. They had about four different types of recipes. They also had this food that will not expire for five years. This food is in a yellow package, and it is especially made for disasters. This food tastes like sweet bread, and it will not make you thirsty. It is for six people. Of course, we bought one!

The last place we went to was the kid's fun zone. My little sister went to the face painting section, while my older sister and I drew with the markers they gave us.  After a while, we left, and my little sister was a cat! They let us keep our markers, too!

We left the church at about 2:00. We went to Yogurtland, next. My older sister saw a sign that said if you spent more than $15, you get a cool spoon. We got one, since we spent $19. The spoon was a giant one!

We went to Ralphs after, and bought some groceries. At the exit, there was a Redbox. You can rent movies and games from a Redbox. My dad rented two movies, Boss Baby, and Storks. My little sister picked Storks, and I picked Boss Baby. I was going to pick a horror movie, but I wanted to see Boss Baby since MARCH!

We had hot dogs for dinner, and we ate them while we saw the movies. My favorite movie was Boss Baby.

Today we had a lot of fun, and I hope we have this much fun again!

This is the food that is for six people.

Hard work

Today was Saturday and today I was going to do something at my school.   We said we were going to make a new garden so when I was done preaching, I was close to the school. I thought that I should walk in and I saw Ms. H and Ms. J and a friend, Ms. P.  They had already started so then I said, "Hello". They were surprised that I came. Ms. H said "Is that you Christopher" and I said, "Yes". So then I started to pull  my sleeves up so that I could start to work. Some teachers were there not to help but to clean in the kindergarten, garden area and to do something in their classrooms. So then Ms. B., our principal came to check, she said she will be helping us. When I came some crates were full so I went to go empty them with MS. P.  It was easy but when we came back there was heavy trash bags so then we went to throw them out, they were  heavy like 10 pounds. But atlas we were done so then we went back.

I pulled out the weeds while Ms. H cut them because they were hard to take out and the bad thing was it was 90 degrees hot. What a hot day!  When we were almost done we saw some roots so Ms. H came and got this tool that was metal and had four swirl sharp lines.  It took out the roots it was awesome. So then we took all the roots. Then my teacher finally came to help. Ms. B. was so funny she didn't want to talk to her  because the work was so hard and she was tired. We all laughed.

We continued on but the sun made it hard to work in one part. We thought if we watered it so that it wouldn't be so dry. Ms. H. watered so then we saw lots of insects  come out like Black Beatles, 2 roaches, and some spiders. Then my mom came so then I had to go. But this day was a sweaty, hard working, and hot.

Good News, Good News

Our teacher is going to start a Horticulture club, after school. In horticulture club, we will garden.  Of course, I will join. I am really interested, and most Classtopians are interested, too. Five kids from another class will join us, and we plan to include a lot more people! Our teacher said that our family members can join, too. I will bring my little sister, who is in third grade. I hope that my little sister will get very interested in plants, and take over when I leave.

In the club, we will make our school more beautiful. We will make new gardens, and so much more. We will learn all about different types of plants, how to propagate from seeds, stems, and leaves. We will learn how to hybridize, and how to grow epiphytes on trees. We will also be able to take plants home. And the most important thing is that at the end of the year, we will have a PLANT SHOW.  Everyone will have their own plant that they are interested in, and will focus on that plant.

The very, very, good news is that our principal, MS.B, just gave us her approval for the horticulture club, while we were out doing PE! Our teacher gave her the flyers earlier this week, and we have been waiting for her approval. Ms. B put her initials, and that means we can start our club on Monday.

I am really excited, and I know that I will come to every meeting.

Watercolors

Since I was little, I have always loved crafting and painting. They are just so much fun. But since I am older I am better at it. I like using acrylic paints, but I want to move on to the next level. Watercolor! I bought a set from Dollar tree, because I'm cheap. My cousin gave me another palette that has less colors. When I do watercolor, it is amazing what I can do with it. I like blending in the colors. When you blend in colors it makes a tie-dye look. I have seen many youtube videos that show different ways to use watercolor. I even saw that you can use dry rice to make a raining effect.
There are many ways to use watercolor. You can use it for bookmarks, canvas and decor. In the picture below, I made a multicolored tie-dye painting on a poster board. I will put it in my room.

You can watch the video below to learn some techniques with water colors.

Gift From the Principal

Today, on our way back from art class, we saw one of our coordinators, Ms. C. Ms. C gave us information about our Chromebooks. Some Classtopians were interested in hearing what she was saying because it had to do with us. We found out that this week that we were not able to take our exams on the Chromebooks.  They are not managed by our school district since they were a donation from SoCal Honda.

She said that it would cost us $25.00 to manage each Chromebook. If they are not managed through the district, we would have to go to the computer lab and take the exams. This means that we would have to steal other people's time in the lab. Like we did yesterday for our fraction test.
Our teacher said maybe the principal would be nice enough to give us the money. She also said that we just done a fundraiser and we could use some of that money, or we could do our own fundraiser.  Our teacher turned this into a math lesson. She told us to figure out how much money we would need. We have 29 Chromebooks, so that is a lot of money. We need about $725.00 dollars to manage ALL of our Chromebooks. Our teacher was joking around and told Abby to bring $5 for each letter of her name plus 5 more. Then, she said to bring our birthday money, our piggy bank, or parents money! I thought that was very funny! We knew she was joking, or was she?

During that Adrian and Niven were in the back arguing about a Youtube video and got very loud. The teacher heard them and call them to pay attention to the information that we were getting. They had to figure out the math problem by themselves. They missed the whole conversation.

As we were talking, we saw our principal, Ms.B. passing by. She had papers in her hands and walking quickly. We said, "There she is. We waved Ms. B. to come over to us, so she did. She started to walk up the stairs to where we were. As she was coming up, our teacher said in a quiet voice, " Use your persuasive conversation skills."

We started complimenting her hair, her clothes, and her glasses.  She didn't accept the one about her hair. She said she only had two minutes to talk.

She said,  "I need one person to talk fast."

Finally, Christopher got to the point. He blurted out, "We need $750."

She said. "WHY?"

Then Aiden took over and explained exactly why we needed the money.

She said, "WHO WILL MANAGE IT?"  She said this because all of us were talking at the same time, and she couldn't figure out what we were saying.

We all said, "Our school district."

She asked for a minute to think about it, and in ten seconds she said, "What if I don't? Will you keep bothering me?"

Our teacher said, "You will never hear the end of it."

Ms. B. said, "If I do, will you stop bothering me?"

We all said a big, huge,  "YES".

She turned to Ms. C. and said, "Can you pay for this?"

Everyone walked away with a big, huge smile and came back to work on this entry.

Pretty we will be able to take all of our exams on our own Chromebooks.

THANK YOU PRINCIPAL. B AND COORDINATOR C. WITHOUT YOUR HELP, NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE  BEEN POSSIBLE!

Jacob Came to Visit

On October 3rd, 2017, Jacob came back to Classtopia for a visit. We were in class and there was a knock on the door. Then Jacob's mom walked and said I have a surprise for you guys. Our teacher said, Is Jacob here?  Then Jacob peeked from behind his mom's back. There was big scream in the class as everyone saw him. They all started walking over to him.  All the boys huddled around him.  They hugged him.

We were so happy to see him that some people got emotional.  Sergio started crying tears of joy to see him. They were best buddies when Jacob was still here.

We wanted to show him all of the gardens and what new things happened in Classtopia. We had so much fun with him we hope we can see him again.

Somewhere in the picture below is Jacob!

Seeds For Sale

Today when class was over, I sold seeds that were for the Garden Department. We had a bunch of seeds. The are the seeds: Stepelia seeds, Fred Clarke's Chile Hybrid, Cup of Gold, Rhipsalis, Popcorn Senna, Begonia Kartuz, mixed epiphytes, Backpack Detritus larger, Canna, Cyfostemma Jutea, Sinningis Kertuz, seeds from succulents on tree, Tylecodon winter grower, Metrosideros Tomentosus, Hawaiian Chili pepper, Hawaiian Flowering Tree, and Accanthostechyes, I bought some mixed epiphytes and succulents from trees for 30 cents each. Some more people bought seeds, but tomorrow I am sure that Classtopians will buy seeds, because some of them forgot their money today.

I will make a little terrarium for my seeds, and  I hope they will grow, because I am curious what the plants will look like.

I mixed both of my seeds, and these are just some of them.

The Return Of Pepe Or Shall I Say Jake.

On October 3rd, Pepe returned!! When I came back from school, I ate, read my book Echo, and did my homework. After a few minutes, I was watching TV and the bell rang. I ran to the door and it was Pepe and his new owners. When I yelled "Pepe", his owners said "PEPE?", and I said "Oh I'm sorry, whats his name'', and they said "Jake". When Chloe heard PEPE she ran to the door and saw her son. I was really happy that I saw him again, because I didn't even say goodbye, but I found out that Pepe and his new owners live near our block. I asked my mom if I can go visit him someday and she said OKAY.
Jake
When Chloe saw her son, she started to play with him all around my backyard. We have an Apple tree and when apples fall Chloe bites them, and when we had Jake (PEPE) they used to fight for them all the time.
Jake and Chloe playing
I Hope Jake will come back and visit again, so I can play with him again. So, classtopians have you ever sold your dog and it came back for a visit??

Echo

On Friday September 29, 2017 our teacher gave us a book called  Echo. The book Echo is a big book, but it is fast to read.  It is fast to read because the margins are also big. A student in our class named Brianna finished the whole book over the same weekend that we got it. Everyone was shocked that she finished so quickly. Some people only read the 48 pages that our teacher said was the minimum. Some tried to pretend and read 50 to say that they did more. I read 60.

The book is divided into 4 parts. Each part is a different story. There is a lot of music in the book. Our teacher makes us listen to the music that is in the book. On the first day we all listened to Beethoven's Fur Elise. We all loved it.

I am on page 230. Our teacher told us to write down the words we don't know. We also have to make a list of the songs on a piece of paper to be able to listen to them. The book is fun to read.
This is the second book that I am reading. The first was Esperanza Rising by the same Author. This one is SO different.
The Book Echo Is Fuuuuuuuuuun To Read!!!!!!!

Beautiful Bromeliads

Oh Bromeliads, how I love your features and that color of your flowers. I am so happy trying to find all the kinds of bromeliads. There are lots in the classrooms and in the garden. There are Guzmanias, Aechmeas, Vrieseas and Neoregelias. What's so interesting is that they all have a type of miniature pool tank and that is were they store water and make a flower.

When I saw it being watered I thought that the plants needed to be watered were the roots were. I was surprised that you needed to put water it in the little pool. So that was when I got my interest in these kinds of plants. One day we were helping one of my friends move and she was giving her plants away. I saw a bromeliad and then I immediately got it and I saw that there was 2 pups.  I was really exited to see them because I am so interested in them.

I hope in the future I will still enjoy bromeliads and grow a lot of them. I will even make blog of my bromeliad flowering. Maybe I will even hybridize them.

All the bromeliads below are at school.

I Enjoy Reading

My friend and I have been going to the library and getting a bunch of books. One of the books I have gotten is The One and Only Ivan.

Alyssa had gotten this book called Riding Freedom. So far I really enjoy the book. It is sad at first and then it becomes funny. Alyssa has said that the book is sad at first but she hopes it will become happier deeper in the end of the book. I really love these books. Maybe you can go and read these books too.

Alphabet Aerobatics

One day I was scrolling through the Internet. I found a video of a boy that was saying the Alphabet Aerobatics. At first I didn't know what it was so I asked my sister if she knew about it and she did. She said that the alphabet aerobatics is the alphabet, but you first start with words that start with A, then it goes to words that start B, then C and on and on. Except there is a twist to it. You have to say it really fast. I have learned A to E. Today I will teach you how to say the A part, B part and C part. If you don't learn it fast, it's okay because it took me about two weeks to learn just A, B, and C. So here are the lyrics for the A part.

Artificial amateurs, aren't at all amazing
Analytically I assault animate things

Part B

Broken barriers bounded by the bomb beat,
Building are broken basically I'm bombarding

C part

Casually create catastrophes causalities
canceling cats got the canopies collapsing

Now all you have to do is put them together and say it really fast. Let's see which Classtopian learns it first!

My New Book

Reading is interesting because it's exciting to see what happens next. Well, I have one of those books. I am starting a book, May Bird The Warrior Princess. This book is about a girl in middle school, May Ellen Bird, who tries to find her way to the end of the universe. Once I looked at it, I knew I had to read it. Of all my time reading, I loved reading adventure books the most.

Since I have started the book, it was really good. There are three books, but I only have the third one. I am hoping that I can find the two other books.

Wonderful World of Reading

I really like reading, and I have been waiting for the library to open. While I waited for it to open, I read some  books from the class library, and some from home. The books I really enjoyed were The Report Card, and The blossoming world of Violet Diamond. The Blossoming World of Violet Diamond was sad to me.

The Blossoming world of Violet Diamond was about a girl named Violet. Her mom and her adopted sister looked similar but she didn't. Violet was determined to find the part of the family that looked like her.

The report Card is about a girl, Nora, who was smart since she was little. She did not want to be treated differently, so she acted like she was an average student.

I  love reading!

Epidendrum Debate

These are pictures of the two Epidendrums that I have at my school.
This is the red Epidendrum.
This is the orange Epidendrum.
I have no idea if they are the same Epidendrum species or not. I do not even know what type/ types they are. Fred Clarke said that they are E. radicans but our friend "The" disagrees and says they are E. ibaguense.

If anyone knows the true identity of picture please leave a comment for us.

Is it , radicans or ibaguense?

Hawaiian Vacation

On the 12th of September I went to Hawaii for a vacation with my family. There were 7 of us on the trip. It was strange because I had to miss a week of school. I didn't mind because my family has been planning this trip for a while.

We went to a section of a island called Honolulu. During the trip we did a lot of fun things like going to the beaches.

This beach is one of the most known beach in Honolulu and it is called Lanikai.

Our hotel was cool, it had a beach and a pool. We were there for 8 days. but the view wasn’t that good. All you could see was a roof.

This is the view from the balcony

Another thing we did was go to a Japanese temple. It was called Byodo-In Temple. There was a forest around it and pineapple were growing on the trees. When I saw that I thought I recognized them because the leaves of the pineapple look like some of the Bromeliads that we have at school.

This is the temple

On the 2nd to last day we went to a luau. We got necklaces, got to eat, and saw a music show. It was fun.

The last day wasn’t that fun. All we did was pack, and drive to the airport. The airplane was called American Airlines. It had a tablet built into the seat, and I watched movies on it. That was the end of my trip.
I brought back chocolate for my classmates to share.
